The leading Data Center on Curacao

Below you will find the history of, how CORE became the leading multipurpose Data Center of Curacao.

From 1965 to 1990

We started as an agency of the local government of Curacao to process the statements of financial transactions. After a merger with the data processing agency of the central government of the Netherlands Antilles processes requests of both the central and the local government, mostly the printing of salary and financial statements. The data center was expanded with a couple of mainframes and the first application hosting service was born.

From 1991 to 1997

We were reorganized and transformed to a more service oriented organization. The data center kept on growing with the addition of the first minicomputers, replacing the mainframe systems. The first router network (WAN) was created to connect all government agencies to the data center.

From 1998 to 2003

We became an independent government owned company. The company continued to improve its services to the customer and proceeded with the development and innovation of the data center. The first Microsoft servers were introduced and the data communication infrastructure was further expanded and improved.

From 2004

Business Continuity Services was added to the portfolio as the leading application hosting provider in Curacao. The name is changed to CORE and the marketing efforts are focused on the promotion of this new service, especially in the NGO and private sector.
